Wine-purple and white striped, speckled, single to semi-double, 2″ blooms with a sweet apple fragrance are produced in clusters. In cooler weather, the flowers appear more striped. Said to grow to about 10′ tall and 5′ wide.
Full sun to part shade with adequate moisture.
Introduced in 2011 by Weeks Roses. It is a cross by Carruth in 2009 between Soaring Spirits x Rhapsody in Blue. PP 22,469. It is a climbing hybrid tea rose.
As for its name. The registered name is WEKspitrib which is a contraction of Weeks Spirit and RIB. It has also gone under the name of ‘Oh Wow’
