This plants comes from high altitude forests of Central America.
5’x5′ in 2 years. This plant gets covered in 2″ long, two lipped tubular flowers, with orange on the tips. These can persist for a fair portion of the year, with the heaviest concentration in summer and autumn. In their native climate they can continue to bloom sporadically through winter. Leaves are heavily ribbed and have a dark red set of teeth around the edges.
The plant is lover by butterflies and hummingbirds.
Does want some moisture in a sunny location.
