Pronunciation: EYE-ris jur-MAN-ee-ka

They like lots of sun and good drainage. While they can take some shade, it will result in less blooms. They are best planted with the rhizome exposed so that it can bake in the sun. If buried, it is more prone to rotting and less blooms.

In Our Garden

Plant ID: P18039

Found in Cutting Garden,

While it is in the cutting garden at the moment, it should perhaps be moved to the streambed garden. That is because we have a nice “yellow” theme that happens in late spring with the Dogwoods, Rhododendron ‘Gold Prinz’, and the fresh growth of the Picea pungens.

We acquired this plant from Breck's.
