A compact rounded shrub with dense deep green leaves tightly spaced along the branches. It grows 2′-3′ tall and wide but can be pruned to shape and size. Clusters of purple flowers appear in late spring through summer. While it is described as wanting consistent summer moisture, ours gets very little supplemental water and so I would classify as drought tolerant in a coastal environment if given some shade.
Hebe buxifolia is native to New Zealand.
