This fuchsia will bloom from spring until first frost, which for us means almost year around. Pendulous flowers have maroon sepals and dark purple-black petals. Leaves are a glossy green on a strong and upright form. Purple-black berries add prolonged interest.
There is disagreement on the size of this plant. Joy Creek says 2′ to 3′ tall and wide whereas Monrovia says 5′ tall and 4′ wide. We will have to see.
Fuchsias are heavy feeder and require flinty of water. Give it some shade in hotter climates, but for us on the coast, it can take full sun.
This is one of a series of fuchsias hybridized by Debbie and Ron Monnier. Their nursery – Monnier’s Country Gardens in Woodburn, OR closed in 2009
