There are over 500 species of Campanula, distributed across the temperate and subtropical regions of the Northern Hemisphere. The highest concentration are in the Mediterranean region east to the Caucasus. Other species are found in the mountains of tropical regions of Asia and Africa.
Mostly annuals and perennials of various sizes ranging from dwarfs to 6′. While nodding heads are typical, other bear their cup-shade blossoms upright.
